Celebrate being you

29 Apr

How the wind blows and messes up your hair! You are frowning but look at how many people might think it’s adorable.

The sun shining in your eyes making you close them half. While you are grumbling, others might think you are sexy looking through your eye lashes.

Celebrate all moments in life as if they are the last ones you have.

Would you really be so angry about missing your train if those clouds were be the last thing you saw?

Would you really be annoyed by a friend for ditching a get together if something bad would have happened while driving your way?

Would you?

I don’t think you would. You know why? Because I think that a self-loving person adores life in all her glory. Celebrating rain as a major clean up and dancing in the sun for the warmth it gives like a womb.

Celebrate yourself and embrace your life. Don’t be surprised if you smile more now…

Am I arrogant?

28 Apr

Amazing how many times we say I in an hour. I have counted it and I think that I already am around 25 times saying it. I don’t think that’s too much, but then again i am not an expert. I don’t think you will be surprised if I say that I don’t say ‘you’ so often. As most of the time I am explaining things to you, so you are listening while I speak. And when you speak I am quiet, which means I am not saying ‘you’.

Am I really so arrogant that I feel the urge to keep pushing myself forward every few sentences I use? When I listen to others, I can’t but agree with the fact that the language we all speak is pretty arrogant. Or we just want to be very clear about the messenger, which I am when I speak to you. What can it be? It’s amazing when you are alert about it and start talking to others. You will find that no one thinks it’s weird but you will smile, if not visible, you will from the inside. While you are explaining what good deeds you did, you will be promoting yourself. You are not saying ‘ by the help of others, we can reach the following’. You will say a sentence more like “I have delivered you x with the help of others”.

Don’t be surprised or worried. It’s not an issue how many times you say I, as long as you are aware of it. Before you know it, you are only talking about you. You are a pretty small island in the world of people, interpretations, feelings, needs and achievements. How are you related to others and how do they relate to you?

Don’t feel bad for knowing who you are and what you can/ can’t do. You should only feel bad if you don’t know what others mean to you. How do they complete you and make you feel that your existence is meaningful? Your existence depends on yourself but by relating to others you will feel more satisfied and that helps you grow. Grow into the person you already are.

Don’t be arrogant, but have a good self-esteem. Know yourself and know the ones that are close to you. Be the best you can!

Busy being happy?

27 Apr

All my friends respond the same way to my question: How are you?

Answer 1: good, busy, pff
Answer 2: busy, good, thanks, pff
Answer 3: in the middle of everything, good, busy
Answer 4: busy and you?
Answer 5: why, do i look tired?

As you might have noticed, we are all busy. But really, what are we doing?

We are working our butts off to be a good team player at work trying to get that promotion or at least not to get fired in the next reorganization project.
Looking at the models in the magazines we realize, we need to be slimmer, stronger and more athletic.
But don’t forget that the models are also telling us, that our make up colors need to be updated according to this season’s what’s hot/ what’s so not! We need more muscles and a six pack. Don’t get me started on the fashion hypes and trends!

The above is just a stress-less day as we need to count the feeling of guilt about the friends we forgot to call or mail back, while doing the groceries because we don’t want to be known as unhealthy/ always eating out freaks. In the meantime we are texting our partners and checking on the kids if we have them. We haven’t even reached the level of having read all the magazines our friends are talking about or watched the movies that our co-workers keep suggesting to us.

It’s a wonder we don’t all have heart attacks each Saturday as our body is trying to adjust to sleeping in for an extra hour!

Basically, we are busy being happy…

Let’s try and take 30 minutes a day in which we put our phones on silent and don’t talk to anyone. It would be hard in the beginning, but just try and you will feel better afterwards. Go for a walk (even better if you have a dog), take a bath with candles with a fragrance or just sit in your garden, balcony and stare. Focus on a tree, a car or a cloud and just stare. If you have a very dynamic household, then go out of the house for that walk or take yoga classes.

You will feel you are bored and restless within 10 seconds, i can assure you! But hold on!

Stop being busy being happy, but take a moment for yourself to charge up. Then continue being busy with your life. Look in the mirror and see your smile 🙂

Feeling above the clouds

27 Apr

Hello world!

27 Apr

As a newborn on this page I am hoping to grow in a stronger, better articulated and kind person in the coming time. I would not know how to be someone else than I am. I can look at others and try to copy and mimic, but they are not me. Any changes i bring to myself to resemble others take me a step further from myself. This page is to stay true to myself, true to the ones i care about and basically just being the best i can.

To do this, i will share my thoughts about the world and i would like for you, the world, to respond to me. This way you will get to know me better and i will too. Making a change starts with 1 word: Hello!
